2024 Super Bowl odds: San Francisco 49ers new favorite

Updated Sep. 26, 2023 10:05 p.m. ET

Week 3 of the 2023 NFL season is in the rearview, and there's a new solo favorite at the top of the oddsboard for Super Bowl futures.

The San Francisco 49ers are now the lone favorite to win it all at the end of the year, sitting at +550. With Brock Purdy — 2022's Mr. Irrelevant — at quarterback, the Niners have gotten off to an impressive 3-0 start. In their first two games, they defeated the Steelers 30-7 and then the Rams 30-23. Both of those matchups were road games for S.F.

The Niners opened up their home schedule in Week 3 with a 30-12 victory over the Giants. That win helped shorten their odds from +700 to +550, making them the solo favorite to win the Big Game at the end of the season. A close second on the oddsboard is Kansas City at +600.

Let's dive into the updated odds.

How Taylor Swift is ultimately good for the Kansas City Chiefs

Could the rumored relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce be harmful or helpful to the defending champs?

It's no surprise that the Niners are the lone favorite after three weeks. They have one of the league's most efficient offensive units and also boast a solid defense. Can they keep up their win streak in Week 4 against a feisty Arizona team, one that pulled a shocking upset over the Cowboys last week?

According to FOX Sports Insider David Helman, the rest of the league should be on notice when it comes to Kyle Shanahan & Co.

"The scary thing about this 49ers team is I'm not sure we have yet to see their final form. This is still a team that is, in my opinion, not completely clicking they way we have seen them do before.

"And that should be a scary thought for the NFL — certainly for the NFC."

Speaking of the Cowboys, their odds to win the Super Bowl have lengthened after a stunning 28-16 loss to the Cardinals. Big D's odds to win it all shifted from +850 to +1000.

In terms of the biggest team that fell off the board, that would be the Denver Broncos. The team's backers were hopeful that hiring Sean Payton as coach would reverse the team's tumble last season to 5-12. Unfortunately, that was not been the case.

Denver opened the season at +4000 to win it all. Then, after a pair of close defeats by a combined three points, the team's odds dropped to +8500.

But, after Sunday's 70-20 humiliating loss to the Dolphins, Denver's odds now sit at +12000. Ouch.
